When the weather is the real enemy

Most mobile strategy games are about optimizing a perfect plan. Tideborn Command is about planning for when the perfect plan falls apart, and that made it far more interesting to us than we expected.

The weather system is the whole point. Storms reroute your fleets and force you to keep reserves, so you can never commit everything at once. Early on we ignored this and lost half our ships in one bad turn. Lesson learned, painfully.

Once you accept that you can't control everything, the game opens up. You start building buffers, staggering shipments, and treating uncertainty as a permanent part of the map rather than an annoyance to eliminate.

It's slower than the flashy war games, and the menus could be roomier. But if you like strategy that makes you plan around chaos instead of eliminating it, this one is worth the patience.
